Semta

Privacy Policy

Effective 7 August 2026 · Semta for iPhone (com.karayagiz.semta)

Semta does not collect personal data. There is no account, no sign-up, and no login. Your location stays on your iPhone. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us or to any third party.

What stays on your device

Semta works offline. The list of places, their photos, their descriptions, and the routing logic are all stored inside the app itself.

You can deny or revoke location access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services. The app still works without it — you pick a starting point on the map instead.

What the app downloads from our server

Semta contacts https://www.keremkarayagiz.com.tr/semta/ for two things, and nothing else:

Neither request tells us who you are. They contain no account, no device identifier, no location, and no information about your route. But they are ordinary web requests, so our server records what any web server records: IP address, timestamp, the file requested, and app version, in its access log. Because a photo request names a place, those logs can show that some device asked for a picture of a particular site.

These logs exist for security and troubleshooting only. They are kept for 30 days, then deleted. They are never combined into a profile, never linked to an identity, and never shared with or sold to anyone.

If either request fails, the app carries on. Tariff values are built into it, and places without a downloaded photo simply show a placeholder. Being offline never breaks Semta.

To keep the server from being contacted at all after the first setup, open Settings › Photos in the app and tap Download all photos once over Wi-Fi.

Purchases

The full version is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple. Payment details go to Apple, not to us. We never see your card number, billing address, or Apple Account.

For refunds, contact Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We are not able to issue refunds for App Store purchases.

No tracking, no ads, no analytics

Semta contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK. It does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to track. We do not sell, rent, or share data — we do not hold any.

Maps and directions

Walking distances and driving times come from Apple Maps through MapKit, which is part of iOS. When you request directions, Apple handles that request under Apple's Privacy Policy. We receive nothing from it.

Children

Semta is a general travel guide and is not directed at children under 13. Because no personal data is collected from anyone, none is collected from children.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the CCPA, and Türkiye's KVKK you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. Since Semta holds no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase. Deleting the app removes everything stored locally.

If you believe we hold data about you, write to gmail@karayagiz.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Semta collects anything, this page will be updated and the effective date at the top will change before that version ships. Material changes will also be described in the App Store release notes.
