No, and that is deliberate. Footing keeps a dated, categorized record of what you spent and stores the receipts alongside it. What qualifies, how it affects your basis, and what you report are decisions for you and your tax professional. The app gives your preparer clean input, not conclusions.
Broadly, an improvement adds value, prolongs the useful life of the home, or adapts it to new uses, while a repair keeps the home in ordinary operating condition. Replacing an entire roof is generally treated differently from patching a few shingles. Refunds for App Store purchases are issued by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We are not able to process refunds directly.
In the app, open Settings → Delete all data. This permanently erases every property, improvement and receipt from your device and from your iCloud private database. It cannot be undone.
Yes. Footing Pro supports multiple properties, so a primary residence and rentals can be kept side by side, each with its own running total and its own summary.
General guidance is to keep improvement records for as long as you own the home and for several years after you file the return for the year you sell. Confirm the right retention period for your situation with your tax professional.
