Footing

Terms of Use

The agreement that governs your use of Footing.

Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Your use of Footing is governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. That agreement is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The additional terms below apply alongside it.

Effective: July 24, 2026

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing or using Footing: Home Improvement Log ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What the app is

Footing is a recordkeeping tool. It lets a property owner log improvements made to a property, attach receipts, categorize entries using a structure based on public IRS material, and export a categorized PDF summary.

3. What the app is not

Footing does not provide tax, legal, accounting or financial advice.

The totals shown are simply the sum of the amounts you entered, classified the way you classified them. Consult a CPA, an enrolled agent or another qualified tax professional before relying on any record for a tax filing. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for the tax positions you take.

4. Your content

You retain all rights to the information you enter. We claim no ownership of it. As described in the Privacy Policy, your record is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account; we hold no copy.

You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. Enabling iCloud in iOS Settings is the recommended way to do this. We are not responsible for data lost through device failure, device replacement, deletion of the app, iCloud misconfiguration, or your use of the in-app "Delete all data" function.

5. Subscriptions and purchases

Current prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by region. Prices may change; a change never affects a period already paid for.

6. Receipt scanning

Receipt scanning is an optional convenience feature that uses automated analysis to suggest values from a photographed receipt. It can misread text. You must review every suggested value before saving it. We make no warranty that extracted values are accurate or complete.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code of the app; not to use the receipt-analysis endpoint outside the app or in an automated or abusive way; and not to use the app for any unlawful purpose. We may block access that degrades the service for others or that abuses the analysis endpoint.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the app and its supporting services available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Features may change, and services may be modified or discontinued. The core recordkeeping function operates on your device and continues to work without our servers.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kerem Karayagiz shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, tax benefit, or business, arising out of or related to your use of the app. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Apple

Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Any claim that the app fails to conform to a warranty may be directed to Apple, which may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.

12. Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the app. You may end them at any time by deleting the app. Sections 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11 survive termination.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict of law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

14. Changes

These Terms may be updated. The current version is always published on this page with its effective date. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
