Privacy Policy
Keralia ("the app") is designed so that the information you care about most — your photos and your logs — stays on your device. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data. It applies to the Keralia iOS application and this website.
Who is responsible
The data controller for this app and website is Yasin Halit Karayağız Karayağız, İstanbul, Türkiye. You can reach us at yasin@karayagiz.com.
The short version
- Your scalp and hair photos never leave your device unless you choose to enable iCloud sync, in which case they are stored in your own private iCloud account, which we cannot access.
- We do not operate a server that receives, stores, or analyses your photos or health logs.
- We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. There are no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs in the app.
Information stored on your device
When you use the app you create data such as guided photos, shedding and symptom logs, treatment and supplement entries, and notes. This data is stored locally on your device using Apple frameworks. If you enable iCloud, a copy is synchronised through Apple's iCloud service to your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. This copy resides in your private iCloud database. We have no ability to read it.
Subscriptions and purchases
Keralia offers auto-renewable subscriptions. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple provides us only with aggregated, anonymised sales and subscription figures that do not identify you. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
App analytics
If you have enabled sharing of analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with anonymised, aggregated usage and crash statistics through App Store Connect. This data is not linked to your identity and cannot be used to identify you. You can turn this off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements on your device.
If you contact support
When you write to us through the support form or by email, we receive the email address you provide and the content of your message. We use this only to answer you. We keep support correspondence for as long as needed to resolve your request and to keep a reasonable record, then delete it.
Children
Keralia is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age required to hold an Apple Account in their country. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
Because your app data lives on your device, you are in direct control of it: you can edit or delete any entry, and you can remove all of it by deleting the app, which also removes its local data. If you enabled iCloud, you can manage or delete that copy in your device's iCloud settings. For data we do hold — support correspondence — you may request access, correction, or deletion by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR or comparable laws, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Legal basis (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR applies, we process support correspondence on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to you and providing the service you requested. We process anonymised, aggregated analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the app; this data does not identify you.
Data transfers
We are based in Türkiye. Any support email you send us is processed there. Photos and health logs are not transferred to us at all.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above and post the revised version at this address. Material changes will be reflected in an app update where appropriate.
