What should I enter as the contract sum?

The figure on the contract you signed, before any extras. Everything Lintel calculates is measured against that number, so it is worth getting right. If you signed a revised contract later, use the revised figure and record only the changes that came after it.

Should I log a change before I agree to it?

Yes. That is the point. Record it the moment your contractor raises it, mark it as pending, and let the app show you where approving it lands you. A pending change you can see is a change you can still decline.

What is the contingency allowance for?

It is the cushion you set aside at the start, entered as a percentage of the contract. Lintel tracks how much of it your approved changes have used and warns you when it is gone.

Sync and data

My projects are not on my other device

Check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account, that iCloud Drive is on, and that Lintel is enabled under Settings, your name, iCloud. Sync happens in the background and can take a moment after the app opens. A network connection is required.

Can you recover my data?

No, and this is deliberate. Lintel has no server. Your records live on your device and in your own private iCloud database, which we cannot see or reach. Export a PDF cost record periodically if the information matters.

How do I delete everything?

Settings, then "Delete all data". This removes every project, change order, payment and photo from the device and from your iCloud store. It cannot be undone.

Subscriptions

What is free and what is Pro?

Free covers one project and three change orders. Pro removes both limits and unlocks PDF exports.

I paid but the app still shows the free plan

Open Settings and tap "Restore purchases". Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. If it still does not appear, email us.

How do I cancel?

On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, select Lintel and cancel. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Reports

What is in each PDF?

The change order record is a single page covering one change: status, amount, reason, schedule impact, its effect on the contract sum, attached photos and signature lines for both owner and contractor. The project cost record covers the whole job: contract position, variance, contingency, the full change order log and the payment log.

Is a signed PDF legally binding?

It is a record of what you entered and what both parties acknowledged. Whether it modifies your contract depends on that contract and on local law. Treat it as strong documentation, not as a substitute for advice from a lawyer.
